About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Installation Engineer to join our team at Alstom, a leading provider of mobility solutions. As part of our ONxpress consortium, we are working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engineering studies, including Bills of Installation Materials/Quantities, Method Statements, and Installation Materials Specification Requirements.
  • Ensure that installation engineering activities are carried out as per Alstom System requirements.
  • Create and review installation design, including Installation Method statements, drawings, and manage site copies of drawings with Red & Yellow/Mark-ups.
  • Manage subcontractor daily/weekly installation reports and ensure that "as built" drawings are in place before revenue service.
  • Create and review Installation BOQs and update as per project requirements.
  • Generate Traceability to installation requirements and list installation tools.
  • Organize regular inspections, including calibration dates and notice to use.
  • Decide start of work as per 4M Checklist for starting Installation Engineering activities.
  • Make REX of Project installation activities and report on action.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in using BIM/AutoCAD/Microstation to create/modify 2D drawings.
  • Attention to detail to understand mechanical and electrical drawings for installation.
  • Familiarity with both mechanical and electrical basic tools for testing and verification tests of installation.
  • Proficiency in computer office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Able to work in the office and field under seasonal environmental conditions.
  • Able to work under the safety rules outlined by site, company, and industry.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Certified in Autocad and/or other Design tools.
  • Experience in railway site management.
  • Strong knowledge of Railway products and service knowledge on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, Freight and Product).
  • 10+ years production experience in design, drafting or engineering.
  • Experience of management by Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives.
