About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Rooflifters Canada Limited. As an Apprentice Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for assisting experienced operators in the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Assist experienced operators in the operation of heavy equipment, including forklifts, industrial lift trucks, and bobcats.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and lubricating equipment and refilling equipment tanks.
  • Measurement and Calculation: Measure distance, volume, length, and weight, and perform calculations as required.
  • Communication: Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to stay in touch with team members and management.
  • Log Keeping: Complete onboard and other logs as required.
  • Pre-Operational Checks: Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Attachment Security: Secure special attachments to equipment as required.
Work Environment

As an Apprentice Heavy Equipment Operator, you will work in a variety of locations, including outdoors, in hot and cold temperatures, and in dusty environments.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Schedule: 40 to 44 hours per week.
