About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Beaver Transportation Inc. as a Heavy Truck Repair Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, utilizing computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions, order parts, and maintain inventory to ensure efficient repair processes.
  • Adjust equipment, repair or replace defective parts, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Keep accurate maintenance reports and documentation to track work completed and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and verify that work meets manufacturers' standards.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks, service attachments, and working tools, and verify and repair emission control systems.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires a physically demanding work environment with attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to handle heavy loads. The successful candidate will be able to work in a dusty and noisy environment.

Requirements
  • College/CEGEP education in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in diesel mechanics or a related field.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility and reliability to meet the demands of a fast-paced work environment.
