About the Role
As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at William Osler Health System, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality ultrasound services to our patients. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound procedures, including clinical assessment, to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Adhere to organization mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Provide radiologists and vascular surgeons with high-quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impressions, and discuss ultrasound findings with physicians when necessary.
- Perform other duties related to the job classification as required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology.
- ARDMS (CRGS) certification and RVT (CRVS) required.
- Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario required.
- Sonography Canada membership preferred.
- Proficiency in all of the following: Peripheral arterial doppler arms/legs (ABI/TBI), PVR/segmental pressures, post bypass/intervention follow-up, dialysis access evaluation, peripheral venous, including duplex arms/legs, venous mapping, venous insufficiency, extra cranial carotid duplex, AAA screening, EVAR follow-up.
- Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to perform the expected job duties.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives, and establish priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to foster an environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning relationships and provide effective consultation with clinical educators.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation, and Collaboration.
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work record.
- May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites.
