The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Associate to join our team in Ottawa. This role plays a vital part in providing top-notch client services to our military members and their families. As a key member of our team, you will promote financial planning, not only for individuals but also for their families.

You will be responsible for greeting clients and potential clients, determining the nature of their business, and ascertaining their needs. You will liaise with clients, advisors, and fund companies to facilitate trade requests. To succeed in this role, you must possess strong listening and oral communication skills, empathy, patience, and a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors, establish the nature of their business, and direct them to the appropriate person
  • Contact clients to arrange appointments, reviews, or advise on deficiencies in completed forms
  • Collaborate with the national team to provide proactive solutions to issues and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support nationally led member outreach initiatives, including briefings and virtual events
  • Ensure the office is stocked with necessary supplies, service office equipment, and arrange for servicing as required
  • Process monetary transactions, including preparing and submitting bank deposits, ensuring the security and confidentiality of information

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A college diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Suitable experience in office administration, banking, or a related field
  • Excellent administrative skills, including data entry, data manipulation, record-keeping, and retrieval techniques
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset

Compensation

This role offers a competitive salary of $65,000 per year, plus excellent benefits, including health coverage, employee and family assistance program, mental health support, and more.
