Job Summary

The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join its finance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial analysis and providing decision support to departments and entities within the Association.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of the annual budget and periodic forecast of designated departments through robust cost analysis and in-depth review.
  • Deliver timely and insightful analysis of actual financial results and provide commentaries on key variances in comparison to budget, forecast or prior year.
  • Prepare financial reports and various reporting packages/presentations for OMA and its subsidiaries.
  • Provide timely analysis and reconciliation of assigned accounts; prepare supplementary schedules and analysis for the financial statements.
  • Support internal and external audit; prepare working papers and supporting documents for the year-end audit.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at improving accounting processes and procedures.

Requirements
  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • CPA designation.
  • 6-9 years of relevant accounting experience; strong analytical skills and good understanding of accounting principles and practices; experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
