About the Role

Gardewine, a leading transportation company with a rich history dating back to the 1950s, is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Trailer/Tractor Mechanic to join our team at our Sudbury Terminal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and servicing on our Tractor fleet
  • Complete electrical, interior, air brake system, tire, and body repairs and welding as required
  • Facilitate safety inspections and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Repair or replace equipment as necessary
  • Assess equipment to determine if they require repair or maintenance
  • Recognize and report faults or malfunctions on all company equipment
  • Coordinate with other maintenance staff and the terminal to prioritize equipment repair
Requirements
  • Red Seal certification or an apprentice at any level, or willingness to enroll in an apprenticeship program
  • High school diploma with a minimum of 2 years' working experience
  • Basic set of hand tools required
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with the latest vehicle diagnostic equipment
  • Experience in preventative maintenance, including electrical, interior, air brake, tire, and body maintenance
