Job Summary:We're seeking an experienced Associate Director or Director to oversee the credit underwriting of a portfolio of National Accounts on complex transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing service standards and execution of all National Accounts customers covered by the team.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure clear communication to Directors, National Accounts (Relationship Managers) to convey decision rationale, enabling effective client responses.
- Accurately communicate authorization terms and conditions, supervising timely implementation.
- Direct and assist Senior Client Solutions Analysts in evaluating information, reporting deficiencies to senior management.
- Advise senior management on credit weaknesses within individual accounts, leveraging ongoing financial, legal, political, technological, and industry analysis.
- Provide coaching and counselling to Senior Client Solutions Analysts and/or Associate Group Lead.
- Build a high-performance environment, implementing a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates the team.
- Provide guidance, coaching and counsel to Directors, National Accounts, to better serve clients' needs.
- In-depth knowledge of Scotiabank's lending policies, practices and procedures, as well as awareness of business trends, economic, technological, social, legal and political conditions.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of financial statements and accounting principles and policies.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral, to manage large volumes and tight time frames.
- Strong risk assessment and analysis skills, with proven accounting and financial analysis skills.
- Ability to build solid business case justification for deals.
- Undergraduate degree in business or economics (or work equivalency).
- Opportunity to lead and drive a customer-focused culture throughout the National Accounts teams.
- Collaboration with various partners across the Bank, including Corporate Banking, GRM, and Shared Services.
- Management of a team of one to three team members, depending on region complement.
- Reporting to the Director and Head of National Accounts.
