Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Geriatric Mental Health Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team at Fraser Health.

About the Role

This part-time position involves providing assessment, treatment, consultation and follow-up services to mentally ill elderly clients of special complexity and difficulty, and their caregivers. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to this vulnerable population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of referred clients to identify their needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions using various modalities, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and family counseling.
  • Collaborate with community agencies to facilitate client access to appropriate resources and services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including statistical reports as required.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling or other relevant health-related discipline.
  • At least one year of recent experience working with geriatric psychiatry clients in a recognized psychiatric and/or community mental health setting.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and possession of a personal vehicle.
