The Northwest Territories School Boards is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as an On Site Teaching Positions. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and contributing to their academic growth and development.
Job Summary:We are looking for a qualified and experienced teacher to fill a Senior High Term Teacher position at Chief Jimmy Bruneau School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of subjects, including humanities, and will work closely with our team to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the regional curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of our students.
- Teach a range of subjects, including humanities, and provide individualized support to students as needed.
- Participate in School Based Support Teams and contribute to the development of Student Support Plans and Individual Educational Programs.
- Lead the development and implementation of Culture Based Programming, including on-the-land camps and activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive school-community relationship and support student engagement and inclusion.
- Complete administrative responsibilities, including report cards, attendance, and class profiles.
- Support the development of self-regulating behaviors in students through a trauma-informed practice.
- Implement the regional literacy and numeracy framework within all grades and subject areas.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education.
- Eligibility for NWT Teacher Certification.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Preferred 1-3 years of teaching experience in relevant grades.
- Experience in Northern Indigenous Communities is preferred.
