Job Overview

At SmartStyle, we are seeking a highly skilled Hair Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our salon staff, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and creating stunning hairstyles that exceed our clients' expectations.

Salary

The salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

In this role, you will be working in a fast-paced barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Booking appointments and managing client schedules
  • Cutting and trimming hair according to clients' instructions or preferences
  • Shampooing customers' hair and providing scalp conditioning massages
  • Shaving and trimming beards and mustaches
  • Applying bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to color, frost or streak hair
  • Cutting, trimming, tapering, curling, waving, perming and styling hair
  • Suggesting hairstyles compatible with clients' physical features and preferences
  • Performing receptionist duties, such as answering phones and handling customer inquiries
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of hair design principles and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education
  • Experience in the hair industry, preferably as a hairstylist or assistant
