We are seeking a skilled Cell Materials Science Specialist to join our cross-functional team at Tesla, Inc. in supporting the development of advanced battery materials.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a chemistry lab environment and operating chemical analysis and materials characterization instruments.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare chemical and material samples for analysis
  • Operate various chemical analysis and materials characterization instruments
  • Build coin cells and 3-electrode cells for electrochemical performance evaluation
  • Maintain accurate records of dissection and cell builds

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform delicate assembly tasks
  • Able to follow standard operating procedures with high accuracy and repeatability
  • Working knowledge of Windows and MS Office
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with hazardous chemicals and Li-ion battery active materials
