About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Caterpillars Childcare Center. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, including daycare equipment and facilities.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs and keeping records.
  • Engage children in activities, such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience an asset.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
