As an Energy Modeling Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching students the latest versions of commonly used freeware in the field of energy modeling. This is a software-intensive program that requires students to model the energy consumption of new and existing buildings, and examine the effects of energy conservation measures introduced into the models.

Responsibilities of the Energy Modeling Instructor include:

* Developing and delivering online course content
* Providing regular contact with students
* Responding to student queries
* Marking assignments and exams
* Posting results and providing feedback

We anticipate 1-5 students in this course per year.

Qualifications:

* Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or Building Technologist with at least five years of experience
* Experience with energy modeling is required
* Energy advisor qualification would be an asset
* Demonstration of current and ongoing engagement in the course subject matter through research and/or scholarship of teaching

The successful candidate will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:

* Knowledge and experience in the subject matter of the course
* Training or experience in the active facilitation of learning in a collaborative online environment
* Direct experience working with current educational technologies, tools, and Learning Management Systems
* Demonstration of knowledge of effective pedagogy in the use of current educational technology and tools
* Demonstration of skills and abilities in the delivery of flexible learning materials, the application of instructional technology, and in the application of adult learning principles

The pay for Energy Modeling Instructors varies based on several factors, including the number of students in the course, the type of work, the type of course, and the number of assessments completed by students in the course.
