Gerdau, a leading steel producer in the Americas, seeks an experienced Millwright/Industrial Mechanic to join our team at our Selkirk, MB location. This role involves inspecting, repairing, replacing, installing, adjusting, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, and insufficient lubrication.
  • Find the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment.
  • Assemble or align gears, bearings, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits.
  • Change, set up, and adjust equipment as required by current operating conditions.
Requirements
  • A Red Seal Certification or Provincial Millwright Journeyman Certificate.
  • Experience in heavy industry.
  • Exposure to PM, Hydraulics, VF drives, PLC's, welding, crane work.
  • Experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule (continental style schedule) 12-hour shifts as well as an 8-hour day shift (Monday - Friday).
