Job Description
As a Clinical Nurse Advisor, TB, you will play a key role in supporting the health and well-being of First Nations people living on-reserve in BC. You will work closely with community health nurses to establish and coordinate TB nursing programs, providing expert advice and guidance on TB treatment, control, and epidemiology.
You will be responsible for establishing and coordinating various TB nursing programs, including Directly Observed Therapy for active and latent TB. This will involve providing training and supervision of Directly Observed Therapy workers and supporting the preparation and maintenance of nursing education plans.
Additionally, you will act as a resource person/educator for healthcare personnel in First Nations communities, providing guidance on TB treatment, control, and epidemiology. You will also assist individual Community Health Centres/Nursing Stations with screening and surveillance programs, such as performing skin test surveys.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of TB health programming and experience working with First Nations people. You must also have current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification and registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
