Cable Splicer Job Description

Tribute Electric Ltd. is seeking a skilled Cable Splicer to join our team. As a Cable Splicer, you will be responsible for installing electrical distribution and transmission systems, splicing, soldering, and insulating conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution and transmission networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install electrical distribution and transmission systems
  • Splice, solder, and insulate conductors and related wiring
  • Write maintenance reports
  • Inspect overhead and underground power lines and cables and auxiliary equipment
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Climb ladders or operate hydraulic buckets when working aloft on poles and towers, or work in confined spaces such as trenches and tunnels to install power lines and cables and associated equipment
  • Communicate with other workers to co-ordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments
Work Environment:

As a Cable Splicer, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be required to handle heavy loads, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders or operate hydraulic buckets when working aloft on poles and towers.

Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to distinguish between colours
  • Manual dexterity
  • Excellent oral communication skills
