Job Title: Transportation Operations Manager

At Roadx Express Ltd., we are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring that all logistics and supply chain activities are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Monitor department's performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods.
  • Plan for changes to schedules and policies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Prepare reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Recruit and supervise staff, providing training and development opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Manage finances or budget, ensuring that all expenses are properly accounted for and that the department is operating within budget.
  • Arrange for shipping documentation and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Ensure transport compliance with regulations, including health and safety and environmental regulations.
  • Establish and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods, ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Negotiate for services and preferential rates with suppliers and partners, ensuring that the department is getting the best possible value for money.
  • Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and that all customers are satisfied.
  • Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue, ensuring that the department is generating the maximum possible revenue.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as logistics or transportation management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a transportation or logistics role, preferably in a supervisory or management position.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers and suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel, as required, to meet with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
