Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching certification

  • Ability to integrate experiential learning activities into the core curriculum
  • Experience working with First Nation students and families in an educational setting
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to develop meaningful relationships and motivate learners
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement science of reading approaches to literacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, establishing cooperative and authentic connections to support student success
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a multi-grade class
  • Experience working in a rural community school
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement on-the-land curriculum
  • Ability to develop, support, and implement Student Learning Plans, Behaviour Plans, Safety Plans, and Individual Education Plans
