Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist works under the supervision of the Health Services Manager, collaborating with clients, caregivers, and family members to facilitate optimal function in self-care, productivity, and leisure. The OT provides consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up, working within the hospital, client's home, and community. They establish individualized treatment plans and goals, manage a busy caseload, and use clinical judgment to prioritize issues daily. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
About YouWe seek a qualified Occupational Therapist with a graduate degree from a C.A.O.T. recognized School of Occupational Therapy, licensed with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, and two years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will maintain current certification in CPR, have knowledge of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, and possess counselling skills. They should be able to conduct individual and group treatment, reach a joint formulation with the client and family, and demonstrate effective time management and self-organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up services to clients

- Graduate degree from a C.A.O.T. recognized School of Occupational Therapy
- Licensed with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
- Two years of relevant experience
- Maintain current certification in CPR
- Knowledge of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
- Counselling skills
- Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS) certification
- Competencies in other languages, French preferred
