Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at DGI Supply. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for capturing and reporting all financial information, managing special projects, and analyzing data to drive business decisions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience working in distribution organizations. You will be responsible for:

  • Financial reconciliation in all areas of finance and accounting, including balance sheet accounts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Variance analysis of results, comparing actual results to budget and prior year.
  • Preparing month-end journal entries, prepaid and accruals.
  • Depreciation and Gain/Loss on disposal entries.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts, credit cards, and Concur.
  • Approving ACH and wire transfers.
  • Providing support in forecasting and budgeting processes, communicating with business partners, updating compensation inputs, and understanding variances.
  • SUPPORTING external and internal auditors' inquiries on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Identifying and providing recommendations for process improvements.
  • Preparing and submitting GST/HST, QST, and PST.
  • Implementing procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of resulting data.
  • Ensuring established accounting controls are adhered to.
  • Performing other various ad-hoc analyses as requested by management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (MS Office Suites, etc.).
  • A background in distribution organizations is preferred.
  • Experience with P21 and CRM software is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-changing environment.
  • Highly autonomous and takes individual initiative.
  • Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines; strong attention to detail and provides work that is accurate, thorough, and consistent.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze complex information.
Working Conditions

This is a remote/hybrid position, requiring you to reside in Canada and have access to high-speed reliable internet. You will also need a quiet, dedicated workspace free from distractions.

SALARY: The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 based on experience.
