About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at G&W Electric. As a key member of our quality assurance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our electrical power grid solutions.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in quality inspection and blueprint diagram interpretation, with experience working in a manufacturing environment utilizing drawings and schematics. You will be required to read and interpret technical documents, perform inspections and audits, and ensure that all products meet the required quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Validate Products: Perform receiving inspection as required, inspecting and validating component parts and completed products for conformance to quality standards defined in Drawings, BOM's, Check sheets and Specification as well as aligning to customer requirements and ISO standards.
  • Audit and Review Processes: Conduct internal process/quality system audits as required, reporting all findings and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate drawing discrepancies to Engineering and participate in Customer inspection as needed.
  • Analyze Data and Report Issues: Assist in evaluation of non-conforming components, conduct dimensional analysis of components to help identify potential issues as needed, material sorting/quarantined/dispositioning, and write CAR/CIIs for audits.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED in combination of work experience in quality inspection and/or blueprint diagram interpretation.
  • Experience: 1-3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment utilizing drawings and schematics, with proven experience in mechanical, electrical, or technical engineering related disciplines.
  • Skillset: Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, bills of materials; solid understanding and experience utilizing measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauge, multimeter and other precision measuring devices; proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with subordinates, members of management, suppliers and other employees.
Preferred Skills
  • Wiring and Ladder Diagram Understanding: Ability to read and understand wiring and ladder diagram.
  • GD&T, Basic Electrical Testing, and Welding Inspection Knowledge: Knowledgeable in GD&T, Basic Electrical testing, and welding inspection.
  • ERP System Experience: Experience using ERP systems.
Work Environment

This is an afternoon shift position running Monday to Friday, 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM. The successful candidate must be able to train on the day shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM for a minimum of 3 months before transitioning to the afternoon shift.
