Assistant Restaurant Manager Job Description

Eldorado Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our dining operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving business success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the operations of our dining outlets, including Maestros Mediterranean, Lakeside Dining, Boardwalk, Lounge, and Room Service.
  • Provide daily supervision and direction of the food and beverage service staff, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards for the food and beverage staff.
  • Monitor meal service to ensure standards are being properly executed.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with guests, crew members, and management.
  • Demonstrate high personal integrity, business ethics, and promote the hotel's dining outlets.
  • Assist with the development within the department, utilizing a continuous improvement approach.
  • Create a fun, safe, and exciting working environment, championing H&S initiatives.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained to deliver quality service and within budgeted labor.
  • Coach and train employees, as well as provide disciplinary action when required.
  • Ensure proper record keeping, inventory, and cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Inspect and oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all function space, public areas, and service areas.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisor experience in a high-volume, fast-paced hospitality environment, preferably in a food and beverage capacity.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business or Hospitality Management is an asset.
  • WSET Intermediate Wine Certificate or comparable is considered an asset.
  • Ability to demonstrate extreme organization in a fast-paced environment while acting as a team player.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large and variable workload.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including Squirrel POS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Guest-focused, outgoing, positive, friendly attitude.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
