Job Title: Greenhouse Worker

We are seeking a reliable and physically demanding Greenhouse Worker to join our team at Ed Sobkowich Greenhouses.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a fast-paced greenhouse environment, ensuring the health and well-being of plants, and contributing to the production of high-quality bedding plants and seasonal plants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain the greenhouse, including weeding, pruning, and fertilizing plants.
• Assist in transplanting seedlings or rooted cuttings, and potting and re-potting plants.
• Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and report signs of insect or disease damage.
• Perform repetitive tasks, such as cleaning work areas and handling heavy loads.
• Work in a team environment, with a focus on reliability and attention to detail.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a greenhouse or related field is an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on physical demands and attention to detail.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a greenhouse environment, with exposure to wet/damp and hot conditions.
• Standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling are required.

Weight Handling:

• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) is required.

Personal Suitability:

• Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential.
• Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on communication and collaboration.
