Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Family Lawyer to join our Toronto office. With approximately 3 or more years of relevant experience, you will have the opportunity to further grow your practice in a professional, collegial, and collaborative firm environment. This dynamic role allows for Hybrid or Remote work arrangements.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with both spouses to oversee and facilitate the resolution of all aspects of their separation.
- Hold clients accountable to deadlines and service guidelines.
- Navigate clients through negotiations, including financial and parenting decisions to create plans that set them up for success.
- Educate clients on relevant laws while adhering to rules and regulations set out by the Law Society of Ontario.
- Communicate with clients and opposing counsel.
- Conduct legal research and draft various legal documents.
- Analyze and summarize complex legal documents.
Requirements:
You are an ideal candidate if you have:
- At least 3 years of experience - more welcome.
- Residency in Toronto (or the GTA).
- A good standing membership with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Strong creative thinking and analytical skills to develop a legal strategy, analyze case law, and litigate complex cases.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Possess a strong passion for client service and work independently.
- Demonstrate strong writing skills, adept at preparing written correspondence and motions.
- Capable of multitasking and effectively handling competing priorities.
- Thrives in a team environment.
