Job Title: Facility Operator

About the Role:

The Facility Operator position is a critical role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our waste treatment, oil treatment, and water injection facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing standard operating procedures, conducting hazard assessments, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain facility equipment, including waste treatment systems, oil treating units, and water injection systems.
  • Conduct daily plant checks and submit reports to management.
  • Participate in waste processing, waste and mud tank operation, shaker and centrifuge operations, and solids treating.
  • Manage the receipt, terminal storage, and transportation of crude oil, ensuring compliance with measurement and crude oil quality standards.
  • Conduct boiler operations, testing, and steam system operations.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate compliance programs and submit reports as required.
  • Participate in the Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Perform general maintenance and ensure the facility is kept clean and safe.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years operational experience in waste processing and oil treating or water injection.
  • Midstream terminal operations experience is considered an asset.
  • Specialty training in boilers, treaters, pumps, repairs, shaker/centrifuge, and loader is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate strong methods regarding all processes in the plant, including safety operations, oil treating and blending, waste processing, and water disposal.
  • Current and valid safety tickets, including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHIMS, and TDG.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment.
  • Ability to document work, perform and manage cross-shift communication, and ensure strategic communication with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate excellent decision-making skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Excellent customer service skills and safe work practices.
  • Valid and acceptable Driver's license and successful completion of pre-employment testing.
