Job Title: Roofer Helper

We are seeking a skilled Roofer Helper to join our team at Ontario Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Job Summary:

The Roofer Helper will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of roofs on various construction sites. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation of roofing materials, including shingles, tiles, and membranes.
  • Help to maintain and repair existing roofs, including patching leaks and replacing damaged materials.
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as cranes and forklifts, to move materials and equipment around the construction site.
  • Assist in the cleaning and organization of the construction site, including the removal of debris and waste.
  • Work under the supervision of a skilled roofer to learn and develop skills in roofing installation and repair.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work at heights and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Recruitment of newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Provision of diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
