We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at RhynoCare. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents.
Responsibilities:- Deliver Nursing Care: Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care, within the scope of practice of an RN.
- Utilize Sound Nursing Practice: Ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s) by utilizing sound nursing practice principles.
- Ensure Timely Admissions: Ensure a timely and accessible admission for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
- Manage Resident Transfers: Ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Manage Medications: Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
- Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses.
- Certifications: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, Basic computer proficiency, Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
- Clearance: Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests), Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check, Clear Criminal Record check.
