Job Summary:

The BC SPCA is seeking a dedicated Animal Care Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our shelter staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to the animals in our shelter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a clean and safe environment for the animals.
  • Provide high-quality care and attention to the animals, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medication as needed.
  • Assist with the adoption process, including preparing animals for adoption and providing information to potential adopters.
  • Support the front office staff with administrative tasks, such as answering phones and responding to emails.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
  • Demonstrable interest in animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care and attention to animals.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
