Job Title: Construction Trades Helper

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Trades Helper to join our team at Montano Plumbing & Contracting Ltd.

Job Summary:

The Construction Trades Helper will assist skilled tradespersons with various tasks, including loading and unloading construction materials, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, and performing routine maintenance work.

Responsibilities:
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Help tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed
  • Assist skilled tradespersons with tasks such as making adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems
Requirements:
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Will train on the job
  • Ability to work outdoors in dusty conditions
  • Ability to work at various locations
  • Ability to lift heavy loads
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
Work Environment:

The Construction Trades Helper will work in a variety of locations, including outdoors and in dusty conditions.

Security and Safety:

A criminal record check is required for this position.
