About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Rolling Mill Setup Technician to join our team for the Afternoon shift (2:30pm- 10:30pm). As a key member of our Extrusion department, you will be responsible for the day-to-day setup of rolling mills, participating in Continuous Improvement activities, and ensuring the highest possible Customer satisfaction rating.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and maintain rolling mills in order.
  2. Provide support to Extrusion Operators in troubleshooting during the operation of the line.
  3. Polish roll sets after removing them from the mills and put them back on their racks in order.
  4. Report roll and die problems or abnormalities of machinery to the supervisor immediately.
  5. Follow all work cell and/or department standardized work instructions/procedures.
  6. Use the shadow-graph, cut section, and check Mylar.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in an industrial field.
  • Secondary school Diploma, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Extrusion process/profiles and ability to methodically problem-solve mechanical/process issues/demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to lift 50lbs to the waist and 40lbs overhead.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified forklift operator, an asset.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset.
