Job Summary

The Painter Specialist position at BELFOR is a key role within our construction division, focusing on restoration work for residential and commercial properties. This position reports to the Production Manager and requires a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setup and tear-down of job-related materials, including poly containment and drop sheets, to accommodate work.
  • Obtain color matches for various surfaces and apply paint and/or lacquer to multiple surfaces.
  • Smooth surfaces, remove old paint, and prepare them for painting.
  • Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.
  • Selects premixed paints or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
  • Removes fixtures, spreads drop cloths, and covers surfaces with masking tape and paper to protect them during painting.
  • Paints surfaces with brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers and simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects.
  • Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects and maintains a clean and hazard-free job site.
  • Maintains and cleans equipment as required and provides excellent customer service.
  • Works under time constraints to meet specific timelines and ensures attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people's property and information.
  • Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices, follows all safety policies and procedures, and supports a safe working environment.
  • Complies with all BELFOR policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements, and proactively communicates job site conditions and concerns.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a related field, with construction, restoration, or insurance experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR's vehicle policy.
  • Ability to work within a team or independently as needed and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience.
  • Willingness to work evenings, on call, and weekends when requested and periodic travel may be required.
  • Criminal Record Check.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted, and occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted.
  • Access and mobility in tight spaces, fit testing, and working at heights.
