Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Coatings Specialist to join our team at Motor Coach Industries. As a key member of our production staff, you will be responsible for preparing coaches and components for painting, applying primer and paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and cleaning.
  • Apply paint and coatings using various techniques and equipment.
  • Maintain and operate painting equipment, including spray guns and pumps.
  • Mix and match paint colors and finishes to customer specifications.
  • Operate hand, air, and power tools such as orbital sanders and measuring instruments.
  • E nsure painting processes comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working as a painter in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in painting techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Experience working with solvents and pretreatment chemicals is an asset.
  • Ability to work with fiberglass and knowledge of paint mixing chemicals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to a high standard of quality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
