Job Description: Small Works Operative

The Estates & Facilities team at Voyage Education Partnership is seeking a skilled Maintenance Tradesperson to join its ranks. As a Building Services Technician, you will be responsible for completing minor refurbishment tasks, including redecoration, plumbing, carpentry, and other building maintenance duties across the 3 main sites that make up the school estates.

You will play a key role in ensuring the school's estate remains safe, attractive, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors. Experience in various aspects of building maintenance is preferred, but training will be given with opportunities for further specialised training.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a busy, hard-working team which makes a significant contribution to the life of the Schools. The ideal candidate will enjoy being part of a dedicated team and take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete building maintenance minor refurbishment tasks as assigned by the Estates Manager
  • Maintain a high level of quality workmanship and attention to detail
  • Work safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Current valid Driving Licence
  • Previous experience of working within a similar role
  • Previous experience of working within a school environment
  • Skills in the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety requirements specific to the environment
  • Flexibility to vary hours of work as required
