CNC Lathe Setup Operator

At Waterford Executive, we are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup Operator to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Lathe machines to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operate CNC Lathe machines to produce parts with precision and accuracy.
  • Use proper tools and techniques to align vises, fixtures, and indicators to ensure accurate positioning.
  • Indicate the position of fixtures and parts to ensure correct placement.
  • Set the lathe to the correct position using the right numeric code.
  • Conduct dry runs to check programs for errors and make necessary adjustments.
  • Modify and grind cutting tools as needed to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Check the first part produced to ensure all dimensions are within tolerance.
  • Keep production running smoothly by deburring and preparing parts for loading.
  • Use downtime efficiently to check parts, clean tools, and prepare for the next job.
  • Prepare tools and fixtures for the next job, and plan ahead for special tools.
  • Operate the machine with proper guarding in place and report any damaged guarding or tools.
  • Work safely and follow company Health and Safety Policy and good housekeeping practices.


Requirements:
  • Ability to setup and operate CNC Lathe machines.
  • Knowledge of proper tools and techniques for aligning vises, fixtures, and indicators.
  • Ability to modify and grind cutting tools as needed.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate positioning and dimensioning.
  • Ability to work safely and follow company policies.
