Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our engineering department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing equipment drawings, participating in the development of projects, and collaborating with the engineering manager to ensure customer approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed drawings, including general arrangement, fabrication, and material lists, for approval and fabrication.
• Conduct mechanical concepting, including protocol, calculation, and compliance with manufacturing standards.
• Establish material lists for equipment fabrication.
• Perform simple design calculations under the supervision of an engineer.
• Conduct dimensional surveys of existing equipment at customer sites on an occasional basis.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

• College diploma in a mechanical or drafting discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of drafting experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• A team-based approach to results is required.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks software.
• ERP experience is an asset.
• Able to prioritize, multi-task, and problem-solve.
• Strong time management, communication (both written and oral) skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees.
