Job Title: Personal Support Worker

Are you a caring and compassionate individual who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of seniors? Comfort Keepers is seeking a Personal Support Worker to join our team in the York Region.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and trustworthy Personal Support Worker to provide one-on-one assistance to seniors in their own homes. As a Personal Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing a range of services including bathing, showering, toileting, meal planning, preparation, and feeding, dressing and grooming, light housekeeping, laundry, organizing incoming mail, grocery shopping, running errands, transferring, mobility support, and assistance with transportation to medical appointments.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide interactive care and spend quality time with clients
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, showering, and toileting
  • Prepare and serve meals, and assist with feeding
  • Dress and groom clients, and assist with light housekeeping and laundry
  • Organize incoming mail, and assist with grocery shopping and running errands
  • Provide mobility support, and assist with transferring
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, and provide transportation
  • Communicate with office staff and family members
Requirements:
  • Must be genuinely concerned about helping people
  • Access to a mobile phone and internet
  • Reliable transportation
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police check, or be willing to obtain one
  • PSW/HCA Certificate or equivalent
  • Current First Aid and CPR Training
What We Offer:
  • Competitive pay - $18 to $21 per hour
  • Three hour shift minimum
