Job Description
Sanctuary AI is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electromechanical systems for our humanoid robots. You will work closely with our cross-functional team to ensure that our systems meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety.

Main Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance electromechanical systems for our humanoid robots, leveraging advanced techniques such as finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics.
- Collaborate with our software development team to integrate mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring seamless communication and optimal performance.
- Develop and implement automated manufacturing machines and assembly tools, focusing on scalability and precision.
- Work closely with our quality assurance team to ensure that all mechanical components meet the required specifications and tolerances.
- Mentor junior engineers and co-ops, providing guidance and training on design principles and best practices.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Robotics, or a closely related technical field; or equivalent extensive professional experience in designing and developing complex electromechanical systems.
- 8+ years of professional experience with 3D CAD tools, with a focus on designing complex, high-performance electromechanical systems.
- Proven track record of leading designs from concept through production in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
- Comprehensive experience working through the entire product lifecycle, including design, prototyping, validation, manufacturing, and deployment of high-performance electromechanical assemblies.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize designs for performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability while balancing competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and their application in mid- to high-volume production.
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and influence technical strategy.
