Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at Martinrea International Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment, be a self-starter, and have excellent communication skills. The Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment, which includes electrical, PLC, CNC, hydraulic, mechanic, and pneumatic systems. The Electrician will also be responsible for running new power supply lines to new and relocated equipment according to Hydro codes and other applicable standards and regulations. Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoots and maintains production equipment, which includes electrical, PLC, CNC, hydraulic, mechanic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Repairs and replaces electric and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, timers, and kinds of switches, PLCs, light curtains, motor controls, etc.
  • Runs new power supply lines to new and relocated equipment according to Hydro codes and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Locates and diagnoses faults on electrical equipment or systems which may involve complex interlocking or interrelated circuits.
  • Maintains and adjusts electrical supply and production equipment to maximize operating performance.
  • Helps to maintain electrical spare part inventory levels in the tool crib.
  • Reads and writes electrical and electronic schematics as well as reads basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  • Installs, examines, replaces, and repairs electronic wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Grade 12 mathematics with a minimum 5 years of work experience in a similar role ideally in a production-oriented environment.
  • Holds a valid Electrician's license, with knowledge of applicable electrical codes.
  • Working knowledge of electric circuitry consisting of relays, PC, and PLC logic.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical theory.
  • Ability to use programming devices for troubleshooting and modification of programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good organization skills, be a self-starter, and a team player.
  • Good understanding of the requirements as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
