Job Summary:
Auburn Heights Retirement Residence is seeking a skilled Cook to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menu plans.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of food and supplies.
- Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to enhance the dining experience for our residents.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and food safety regulations.
- Previous experience in a retirement home or similar setting is an asset.
