Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary commensurate with their level of fellowship training and experience. The estimated salary for a fellowship trained subspecialist Laboratory Physician/Pathologist in Alberta is $364,597.

Job Description

This is a full-time joint UofC/APL academic position; the successful candidate will hold an academic staff appointment at the Professor level with 50% protected time for academics and 50% allocated time for clinical services. The APL medical staff position is a contractor position with APL. Academic appointment will be offered as a UofC employee.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest possible standards of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established performance indicators and turn-around times.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement programs.
  • Participate in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical teaching.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

  • A MD degree.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta.
  • Certification in Anatomic Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
  • Subspecialty Fellowship training and/or Certification in Renal Pathology.
  • An advanced graduate degree with basic/translational research training.
