Operating Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Engineer to join our team at Erie Meat Products Ltd. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a valid TSSA 3rd Class Operating Engineer Certificate and 4th with B Refrigeration experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of equipment, minimizing downtime, and ensuring efficient operations of the plant. This includes maintaining and operating boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, cogen, and various other facility equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and work orders
- Performing boiler feedwater and cooling water tests
- Communicating daily engineering activities with the Chief Engineer and updating all engineering logs daily
- Addressing safety issues and concerns immediately
- Ensuring preventative maintenance programs are done based on assigned schedules
- Contributing to the continuous improvement initiatives on all aspects and maintaining/improving the existing PM systems
- Timely and organized response to equipment-related problems that impact production requirements
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also be physically able to lift up to 50lb and stand/walk for the majority of the shift.
