Job Title: Geriatric Emergency Management Specialist

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatric Emergency Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will provide comprehensive, specialized, and advanced nursing care for patients in the emergency department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consultation support and management recommendations for the care of older adults in the ED.
  • Assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate a plan of care/action to coordinate identified client needs using standardized geriatric assessment tools.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote best practices in care of older adults and excellence in nursing care.
  • Develop and implement educational programs and learning opportunities for staff.
  • Evaluate clinical outcomes and recommend changes in practice to improve the quality of care.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program.
  • Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated current expertise in geriatrics and/or emergency services.
  • Membership in the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Gerontological Nursing Certification.
  • Speciality certifications related to the area of expertise.
