Job Summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic or 4th Year Apprentice to join our Fleet Maintenance team in Edmonton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic work on a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy duty equipment, including engines, transmissions, driveline, brake systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Participate in the company's safety program and ensure compliance with all safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure repaired equipment is properly tested for correct performance and operation.
  • Utilize excellent organizational skills to complete accurate, legible, and descriptive documentation for all completed repairs.
  • Install or fabricate aftermarket equipment and components as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, and Parts Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Apprentice or Journeyman Certification.
  • Experience with the CVIP Motor Vehicle Inspection Program.
  • CVIP certification preferred but not required.
  • Insite/JPRO experience preferred.
  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract required, 1A or 3A Driver's License preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on a wide range of machinery and equipment.
