We are seeking a Quality Lab Operator to support our gypsum plant in Hagersville, Ontario. This is a contract position for maternity leave coverage.

As a Quality Lab Operator, you will conduct daily job functions in one of the various positions within the Quality department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate product testing as outlined in the department procedural manuals.
  • Recognize and react to adverse trends, off-spec material, or poor product performance characteristics on manufactured products.
  • Assist in the implementation of USG Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs, and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.
  • Exercise personal safety and promote and enforce safety among crew members.
  • The successful candidate will be given opportunities to be trained on additional operator rate positions in the department as skill and ability are gained.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills to provide timely test data to various production departments.
  • Must be comfortable in dealing with third-party inspectors, corporate quality, and company sales associates.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work as a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, MS Access, and Excel are required.
  • Must be a people and results-oriented individual who incorporates and emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects of the daily work environment.
Working Conditions

This is a 12-hour position with rotating shifts.

Hourly wage: $29.02

This position is a contract role and thus does not provide benefits.
