Job Title: Procurement Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to support our procurement team in managing daily procurement activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing purchase orders, sales orders, and I-trade orders in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  1. Process and create purchase orders, sales orders, and I-trade orders, ensuring attention to detail and timely completion.
  2. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports, including pricing, customer instructions, quality, inventory, and transfers.
  3. Prepare and communicate loading schedules, working closely with the internal logistics team to ensure alignment with customer delivery schedules.
  4. Provide support in promoting and creating programs for customers and assist in communicating those programs to the sales teams.
  5. Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, research, and resolve issues in partnership with operating partners and Category Managers.
  6. Prepare, update, and manage category portions of support for Sales Teams and communicate updates to the Category Management team as required, including floor plans, transfers, inventory, etc.
  7. Prepare and keep records of the vendor payment process, compiling payment packages, tracking information, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining files and spreadsheets.
  8. Track, update, and modify product data flow and payments to ensure no discrepancies in items or pricing and address changes in demand with the Category Management Team.
  9. Prepare research and ad-hoc project work as required.
  10. Follow up on outstanding items and issues and support Buyers with correcting and tracking down discrepancies.
  11. Assist colleagues with overflow work as necessary.
  12. Process and update Category Management team annual budget and forecasting tools.
  13. Execute all duties in accordance with the company's key performance indicators, business objectives, guiding values, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Agriculture.
  2. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and detail-oriented.
  3. Expert Excel and all Microsoft programs.
  4. Solid interpersonal skills, great communicator.
  5. Ability to work with tight timelines and under pressure.
  6. Understanding of planning and pricing principles would be an asset.
  7. Ability to work independently or as a team player.
  8. Ability to work flexible hours and weekends.
