Retail Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to oversee the daily retail store operation at Dollarama L.P. The ideal candidate will have a highly visible, hands-on approach and provide leadership and vision to fuel the growth of our successful business.

About the Role

The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, including merchandising activities, recruitment and training of new employees, scheduling and inventory management. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to efficiently organize time and manage priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate store staff to ensure excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience.
  • Assign duties to employees and provide constructive feedback to enhance their performance.
  • Operate a cash register and perform cashier duties during peak periods.
  • Resolve customer concerns, issues, and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and assist customers with their queries.
  • Participate in merchandising activities to maximize results and store appearance.
  • Help manage, supervise, and organize the reception and stocking of merchandise.
  • Train new and current employees on key store processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Provide quality customer service during operating hours, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Address and assist with staffing requirements and recruitment needs to maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Ensure that employees work safely by following health and safety procedures and reporting any incidents or hazards.
  • Perform key holding duties, including opening and closing the store, and ensuring that all security procedures are followed.
  • Ensure store cleanliness and organization, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for customers.
  • Participate in inventory control and loss prevention processes to minimize losses and optimize stock levels.
  • Manage and prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods.
  • Perform administrative duties, including employee paperwork and files, and sending necessary documentation to head office.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years' experience in the retail industry, preferably in a team management position.
  • Flexible availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • The ability to efficiently organize time and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, high-volume retail environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $28.85 per hour, with a competitive hourly rate and range of benefits, including bonus pay plan, company pension, employee assistance program, extended health care, flexible schedule, RRSP match, and more.

Working Hours

The expected working hours for this role are 40-50 hours per week, with flexibility to work Monday to Friday and weekends as needed.
