Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Comprehensive Nursing Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of our residents.
  • Ensure Timely and Safe Resident Transfers: Coordinate and facilitate the transfer of residents to and from our facility, ensuring a smooth and safe experience.
  • Manage Medications and Supplies: Safely store, control, and dispense medications and narcotics, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
  • Conduct Resident Orientations: Provide comprehensive orientations to new residents, ensuring they understand our services and facilities.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent, and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, basic computer proficiency, valid First Aid and CPR Certificate, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Familiarity with the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other relevant Federal, Provincial, and Municipal statutes.
  • Personal Qualities: Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful attitude towards residents, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding resident rights.
