Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labourer to join our Manufacturing Operations team at Argus Machine Co. Ltd. in Nisku. As a Labourer, you will play a critical role in the preparation and threading of OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate various tools and equipment to handle and prepare OCTG products, including horizontal/vertical saws, MRE swage units, coil induction stress relievers, phosphate application tanks, coupling torque machines, overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, sand blast cabinets, Techno stamping machines, and hand tools.
  • Apply and handle hazardous chemicals as required by WHIMIS standards, including paint, thread compounds, zinc and manganese phosphate.
  • Follow Argus Standard Operating Procedures and read and carry out work instructions detailed on Production Orders.
  • Measure casing lengths and OD/ID dimensions to close tolerances, using metric and imperial scales, and use math skills to convert measurement scales and determine average measurements.
  • Provide general shop and yard labour as required and identify process improvements that will benefit workflow and assist with implementation of approved improvements.
  • Clean and maintain the work area and equipment used daily.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma with Grade 12 math or equivalent is required.
  • Machine shop experience is an asset.
  • A forklift ticket is an asset.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment.
  • General knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry.
  • General understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Shop floor environment: extended standing and working with products.
  • Team environment where constant and accurate communication is required.
  • Working wearing personal protective equipment 100% of work time.
  • Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs without mechanical assistance.
