Job Title: Junior Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Estimator to join our team at Design Stainless Steel Ltd.

Job Description:

The Junior Estimator will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, preparing pre-qualification submissions to present to clients, and reading blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction estimating principles and practices, and be able to operate CADD and other computer software systems.

The Junior Estimator will also be responsible for preparing estimates for general expenses and overheads, project cash flow and financing requirements, and creating and submitting estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms.

Additionally, the Junior Estimator will utilize quantity take-off procedures, advise on tendering procedures, set up cost monitoring and reporting systems, and monitor and adjust contract expenditures.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in construction estimating
  • Permanent employment
  • English language proficiency
  • 40 hours per week
